The Scottish Rite is called the College of Freemasonry as its primary goal is to promote learning and self-improvement. The 29 Scottish Rite degrees of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction instruct us about the importance of six core values. By watching or participating in the cast for these degrees, Brothers are told the importance of reflecting on these values and how they may be applied to our lives. Unfortunately, we all know that knowledge is not enough. To adopt a new habit or behavior, what we call smoothing our rough ashlar, takes real work and effort. We must go beyond the intellectual comfort of the arm chair and get dirty in the complex quarry of life.
At 7:00 PM on December 14th, join Ill. Bill Edwards 33° MSA, for an engaging evening where he explores his vision for how the John Maxwell Method can be applied to help Brothers apply the important core values in all aspects of their life. As Scottish Rite Masons and Sublime Princes of the Royal Secret, we know that choices matter! Like Constans, in the important moments of life, we are all called to be leaders and have the capacity of make a positive difference in the world. In his own words, Dr. Maxwell has said “Leadership is NOT about Titles, Positions or Flowcharts. It is about one Life influencing Another.” As Masons we are charged to do the very best with that which lies nearest to you, as your influence will go further than you can conceive to make a lasting positive difference in the world!
